Relief and Assistance Program in Hillside VIC
What’s Boxes of Care?
It’s a material relief and assistance program under Christian Life Fellowship. It was inspired by an organisation called Samaritan’s Purse who runs an annual Operation Christmas Child Project that CLF has participating in over the past decade.
Each year we have filled over 100 shoe boxes with gifts for children around the world through their incredible project.
From this annual project, we had the inspiration to start a program in our own city of Melbourne helping individuals, families and children who are experiencing a significant season of need and struggling with poverty, loneliness, illness, broken families or even adapting to a new culture.
Through Boxes of Care we share God’s love through preparation and gifting of much needed items and/or “treat items” such as restaurant vouchers, movie tickets, zoo passes, etc which many don’t have the luxury of affording.
We have worked with organisations like W.I.R.E (Women’s information and referral exchange) and St Kilda Gatehouse and have a solid understanding of privacy laws/issues. With each situation, there may be some matters that we would need to work through with you as to the contents and distribution of these boxes along with what positive message of hope would be acceptable to include in the boxes.
If you or your organisation know of someone who is experiencing a hardship and needs some support, please contact the Boxes of Care team and we will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss what will best work to meet the need.
